Featured Repair

Lexus RX Front-Corner Collision Repair

The damage caused by a collision is not always limited to the exterior panel or component closest to the impact. Properly planning the repair may require disassembly, access to the surrounding areas, and a closer inspection of what lies beneath the surface.

This Lexus RX required extensive work around one front corner. Cooper’s Collision coordinated the different stages of the repair, from disassembly and damage evaluation through component repair or replacement, refinishing, reassembly, and final review.

/// PROJECT OVERVIEW

/// Vehicle

Lexus RX, Year

/// DAMAGE AREA

Front corner and surrounding exterior components

/// REPAIR TYPE

Auto body and collision repair

/// Work Performed

Disassembly, component repair or replacement, body work, refinishing, and reassembly

The affected front corner after damaged exterior components were removed.

The Initial Condition

Looking Beyond the Exterior Damage

By the time the repair process was photographed, the bumper, headlight, fender, and surrounding components had been removed from the affected front corner. This gave the technicians access to areas that could not be properly evaluated from the exterior alone.

Disassembly is an important part of developing a complete repair plan. It allows the team to inspect the surrounding mounting points and underlying components, identify the full scope of the damage, and determine which parts can be repaired and which must be replaced.

The Repair Process

Rebuilding the Front Corner One Stage at a Time

Once the affected areas were accessible, Cooper’s could coordinate the body work, replacement components, surface preparation, and refinishing required to restore the damaged portion of the Lexus.

While the exact procedures depend on the condition of the vehicle, this repair involved several connected stages.

/// 01. Disassembly & Inspection

Exterior components were removed so the surrounding areas could be inspected and the complete scope of the repair could be established.

/// 02.
Repair Planning

The team identified the components and body work required to rebuild the damaged front corner.

/// 03.
Component & Body Repair

Affected components were repaired or replaced and the surrounding body areas prepared for reassembly.

/// 04.
Surface Preparation & Refinishing

The repaired areas were prepared and refinished to create a consistent color and appearance across the affected portion of the vehicle.

/// 05. Reassembly & Final Review

The exterior components were reinstalled, panel fit and finish were reviewed, and the completed vehicle was prepared for return to the customer.

The Finished Result

Restored From Every Angle

The completed Lexus shows the difference between simply covering visible damage and coordinating a complete collision repair. The front corner was fully reassembled with consistent panel alignment, restored exterior components, and a clean, uniform finish across the repaired area.

The damage that defined the vehicle when the repair began is no longer the first thing you see. What remains is a Lexus ready to move forward.
